At Aaroha we believe that organisations are living systems, sustained by the five elements in the Elemental Compass.
Organisations decide what the focus for each element is, and the balance between all elements. This depends on the business context and stage. For eg, Start ups may want to strengthen their definition and execution of Fire and Ether, while more stable organisations may want to ensure that there is sufficient backing of Earth to sustain initial success.
Each element is important, and therefore, we invite organisations to understand their lived culture, the role each element needs to play, and prioritize appropriately
Do they lead well with self awareness, steadiness and integrity and not just lead big?
Can they learn faster than the environment changes?
Can they handle significantly bigger, more complex roles?
Do they genuinely want to grow in the organisation?
We firmly believe that while leaders are assessed on their outer game, their ability to play their inner game is as or even more important.
The inner game shapes who you are – whether you can observe yourself and self-correct in the moment, whether you are purpose led, whether you are calm and steadfast in the middle of chaos, and whether you have the courage of conviction needed.
The outer game shapes what you do – be the leader others need you to be, using your power for the good of the system while achieving results, grow successors so you can focus on the next role.
All of this is anchored in a powerful definition of a leader – A Raja-Rishi, a leader who seeks and holds power and responsibility of a King with the calmness and system orientation of a Rishi.
Therefore, there are 8 Aaroha leadership principles, translatable across organisations and applicable to all levels of leadership. This will be the basis for the 360 degree feedback for identified leaders.
